About The Role

Shopify is intensifying its focus on Enterprise Merchants to boost revenue growth and become the preferred e-commerce platform with advanced enterprise capabilities. Our Enterprise Solutions Engineers (SEs) are crucial in this effort, working closely with sales teams to tailor technology solutions that meet client needs and ensure seamless integration. These engineers use their deep technical knowledge and product expertise to build trust and bridge the gap between technical solutions and business objectives.

To support and enhance the capabilities of our SEs, we are seeking a Learning and Development Program Manager. This role will be pivotal in creating and implementing training programs that equip our SEs to effectively accelerate and close enterprise deals, further establishing Shopify as a leader in the enterprise e-commerce space

Responsibilities:

  • Training Program Development and Delivery:
    • Design and develop training programs tailored to the needs of Enterprise SEs, ensuring alignment with the latest technologies and Shopify products.
    • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars using a variety of instructional techniques.
    • Create scalable learning solutions that can be delivered across different regions and teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Strategic Alignment:
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders including product teams, engineering, and sales to understand the evolving needs of Enterprise SEs.
    • Ensure that learning programs align with business goals and technical requirements.
    • Develop a community of practice among SEs to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Assessment and Continuous Improvement:
    • Utilize assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs and their impact on business outcomes.
    • Adjust training strategies based on feedback and performance metrics.
    • Implement feedback loops where SEs can contribute insights and suggestions for training enhancements.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends in e-commerce, technology, and adult learning to continuously refine and improve training programs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of training curricula, materials, and SE progress.
    • Report on the progress of training initiatives to management and adjust strategies as necessary.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a tech-focused educational role, such as a technical trainer or curriculum developer.
  • Demonstrated ability in designing, implementing, and evaluating effective training programs, with a strong background in instructional design.
  • Ability to analyze training needs and business objectives to develop effective learning strategies.
  • Strategic thinking skills to align training programs with organizational goals.
  • Ruthless prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders, including Solutions Engineering, product teams, engineering, and sales.
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders to ensure that learning programs align with both business goals and technical requirements.
  • High adaptability to rapidly changing tech environments and strong problem-solving skills to challenges during training implementations.
  • Experience in Solutions Engineering, Architecture, or consulting is a plus.
