- Review patient accounts to identify overpayments and credit balances
- Investigate and resolve assigned credit balance accounts using various systems
- Correct and enter patient and insurance payments, including contractual adjustments
- Issue refunds to patients and insurance companies as necessary
- Handle internal and external inquiries regarding credit balances and refunds
- Minimum of three years' experience with credit balances from electronic/manual EOBs and patient payments
- At least three years' experience in medical billing and refunding insurances and/or patient accounts
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated problem solver with strong communication skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
- Minimum educational requirement: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience working in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrated ability to exceed company and customer expectations
