About The Role

Weʼre looking for an experienced AWS infrastructure specialist contractor who can build a new EKS cluster. You work with our engineering team to stand up a new cluster in parallel to our existing ECS cluster and facilitate a clear transition of our workflows to the new infrastructure. Youʼll have the support of the engineering team to ensure access to the proper resources.

What You’ll Do

• Bring operational excellence to our infrastructure while working largely with our engineering teams,
• Ensure that backend systems and services operate smoothly in production by triaging and resolving operational issues,
• Improving the quality of lives our engineers Deliverables:
• Creation of a Staging “environmentˮ Create a new “environmentˮ - An AWS account and terraform cloud managed infrastructure pipeline. We already have a Terraform process and cloud-managed infrastructure, however, a small number of additional manual steps are required to get the initial environment setup
• Kubernetes Migration Transition plan from ECS to EKS without interruption of service, during regular business hours EST/PST Functional EKS cluster in each of our environments: starting with a single node pool, with a minimum of 3 nodes per pool. Ingress routes to Services and Deployments Parallel deployment pipelines to EKS. Meaning, we have ECS deployment pipelines and want to replicate this functionality to EKS without interrupting existing processes until we transition. To manage the scope, we are looking to keep it simple where are tools are GitHub Actions, Terraform Cloud, and AWS EKS. Terraform Cloud is managing our infrastructure and GitHub Actions manage our service deployments. Solution to collecting log data
• User documentation on authenticating kubectl for access from our desktops, over VPN
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Strong track record of working with security-first infrastructure systems and EKS and Terraform
• Customer-centric -- you are focused on creating the best customer experience possible.
• Experience working closely with a cross-functional product team.
• Bias towards action and ownership – when you see a problem, you fix it. 7+ years of engineering experience. Youʼll stand out if you have:
• Fintech industry knowledge and experience or other security oriented domains
• Knowledge about CIS Benchmarks and specifically experience with the CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark
