THE POSITION
Under general supervision, the Equipment Services Specialist performs preventative and semi-skilled work such as:
- maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment
- repairs or replaces conventional, medium duty tires
- tests and repairs starting and charging systems
- recharge batteries
- inspection of motorized and mechanical equipment
- performs preventative maintenance for all equipment
- and performs related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
- Graduation from High School or GED supplemented by mechanical trade courses
- One year of preventative maintenance experience with automotive and power driven equipment required
- Prior experience with a Fleet Management Software is highly desirable
Knowledge of:Tools, equipment, techniques, and procedures used in the maintenance, repair and adjustment of automotive, construction, 2 cycle and other heavy equipment; lubricating oils and greases.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform preventative maintenance, make basic mechanical repairs, and to assist in the more difficult repairs of a wide variety of automotive and power driven equipment; skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing the more routine faulty operating and mechanical troubles; ability to keep accurate records and assist in preparing reports on the preventative maintenance program; follow oral and written instructions; use independent judgment in recognizing and resolving problems dealing with the preventative maintenance program; ability to read and comprehend automotive and equipment maintenance and repair manuals.
Physical Effort:Performs tasks requiring physical effort including bending, stooping, and heavy lifting.
