The PACE Confluence & Jira IT Specialist is responsible for administering, configuring, and optimizing Atlassian Confluence and Jira platforms to support enterprise collaboration, project management, and workflow automation. This role ensures that these systems are effectively integrated, maintained, and leveraged to meet organizational needs.
Will work in our Central Valley PACE Center in Modesto.
Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Compensation: $43.36 - $45.52 an hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Atlassian Confluence and Jira platforms to support business and IT operations.
- Develop and implement best practices for Confluence and Jira, including user management, access controls, and governance.
- Customize Jira workflows, issue types, screens, and automation rules to streamline processes.
- Integrate Confluence and Jira with other enterprise applications (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow) as needed.
- Provide training and technical support to end users, ensuring adoption and efficient use of Confluence and Jira.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Confluence and Jira, escalating to vendors or other teams when necessary.
- Maintain system documentation, including configuration changes, integration details, and troubleshooting guides.
- Monitor system performance and proactively recommend improvements or optimizations.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including project managers, IT teams, and business units, to understand and translate requirements into platform solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in IT change management and incident resolution processes.
- Assist with foundational DevOps tasks, including scripting and automation, database management, and web server administration.
Physical Demands
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
- Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, twist, turn, finer and feel.
Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors, primarily in an office setting. The noise level inside is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis.
Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of database administration, such as PostgreSQL or MSQL.
- Ability to write SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis.
- Experience managing third-party add-ins or integrations in IT systems.
- Experience with configuration and release management of web applications.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Atlassian certifications (e.g., Certified Associate or Professional) from Atlassian University.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Experience with Rest API and JSON.
- Knowledge of network security and DevOps best practices.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in IT support or system administration.
- Minimum (3) years of experience in application server management (e.g. Tomcat, Apache, IIS, Nginx).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience preferred.
