Key Responsibilities:
1. Training & Development
Design, plan, and implement induction and ongoing training programs for nursing and paramedical staff based on organizational needs.
Conduct regular in-service education sessions, workshops, and hands-on skill training in line with current nursing practices and hospital protocols.
Develop and maintain annual training calendars in coordination with the Nursing Superintendent and Unit Nursing Leads.
Deliver targeted training on specialized areas such as infection control, patient safety, code blue management, biomedical waste management, and medication safety.
Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, audits, and feedback mechanisms, and identify improvement areas.
2. Competency Management
Develop and update competency-based skill checklists and assess nursing staff proficiency periodically.
Identify individual and departmental training needs through skill gap analysis and clinical performance reviews.
Support certification and recertification programs (BLS, ACLS, PALS, infection control, etc.) to ensure compliance with statutory and accreditation standards.
Mentor underperforming or newly recruited nurses through guided clinical coaching and mentorship.
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure that nursing education programs align with hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, nursing audits, and incident reviews to identify and address training gaps.
Promote and monitor adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and ethical nursing practices through continuous education.
4. Curriculum & Material Development
Develop and update training modules, learning aids, and e-learning content in collaboration with department heads.
Maintain a repository of updated nursing standards, protocols, and clinical guidelines.
Coordinate with HR and Learning & Development teams for cross-functional training programs.
5. Research & Professional Development
Encourage nurses to engage in clinical research, case presentations, and knowledge-sharing forums.
Stay updated with current trends in nursing education and clinical practice, incorporating them into training design.
Represent the Nursing Department in internal and external professional forums, workshops, and conferences.
