The role you’ll contribute:

Software Engineering Manager – Frontend will lead AdventHealth’s cross-platform frontend engineering teams across iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React, and React Native. This role is responsible for defining and executing the frontend strategy, ensuring consistent user experiences, performance, accessibility, and security across all patient- and caregiver-facing digital platforms.

In addition, this leader will champion the use of AI-assisted engineering, guiding teams in leveraging AI tools and copilots to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity — while maintaining compliance, privacy, and engineering standards.

You will drive engineering excellence, mentor high-performing teams, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend leaders to deliver scalable, compliant, and delightful digital experiences that embody AdventHealth’s mission of whole-person care.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Lead and mentor frontend engineers across iOS, Android, React, and React Native platforms.
  • Oversee the entire frontend lifecycle — from UX collaboration to implementation, testing, release, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and manage the use of AI in software engineering, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and intelligent documentation generation.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and reusable component libraries for cross-platform consistency.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to deliver elegant, performant, and accessible user interfaces.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency through modern DevOps, automation, and AI-driven insights.
  • Manage Agile sprints, team capacity, and priorities using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with backend, DevOps, and API teams to ensure seamless integrations and secure data flows.
  • Evaluate emerging frontend and AI technologies for adoption opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive, growth-oriented, and mission-driven engineering culture.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • Proven leadership in frontend engineering across iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React, and React Native.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT API, Codex,or internal AI coding assistants) to improve developer productivity and code quality.
  • Expertise in UI architecture, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and authentication flows.
  • Experience managing Agile teams, sprint planning, and delivery pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, App Store/Play Store processes, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, design, and product functions.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Familiarity with healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR) and EPIC MyChart or mobile EHR integrations.
  • Experience with secure, HIPAA-compliant app design and patient-facing digital experiences.
  • Exposure to AI in healthcare applications or generative UI frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale and optimize cross-platform applications.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

 

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software development, maintenance, and production support with at least 2 years in a technical management role.

• Experience with Azure services and expertise with cloud-native development and deployment practices.
