As a ROI Technician, you’ll be part of a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and compliance of patient health records. You’ll play a critical role in supporting patient care by driving accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations across the Release of Information function.
What You’ll Do
- Schedule - Monday - Friday, flexible work schedule after initial training.
- Serve as the intake hub for the Release of Information team.
- Support release of information workflows within the Enterprise Release of Information Department.
- Perform timely data entry of incoming record requests, respond to status requests/provide customer service for all inbound calls, production of record output for delivery, assignment to low complexity level release types/work queues.
- Foster working relationships with other departments to ensure timely resolution related to any issues within assigned workflows.
- Foster respect for patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in all phases of the release of information process/release of protected health information.
- These colleagues will also promote positive customer relations through prompt and courteous service in this fast-paced, high volume, customer focused environment.
What You’ll Need
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in a hospital-based Health Information Management (HIM) department, large outpatient clinic, or equivalent work experience with similar job assignments/ role/ responsibilities, required.
- Should have a working knowledge of HIPAA requirements/federal/state regulations and medical terminology.
- Must have the ability to meet standardized productivity metrics/goals.
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
- Must have a working knowledge of acute and ambulatory medical records.
- Must possess excellent analytical/critical thinking skills and be comfortable with a technology driven/computer-based workflow.
- Professional demeanor, excellent verbal/written/interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with the EPIC EHR and/or Hyland On Base scanning application.
