We’re on the lookout for a driven and passionate Territory Sales Manager – Commercial Equine to join our dynamic team in the Hunter Valley, NSW. As a key representative of SunRice’s Commercial Equine portfolio (led by Pryde’s EasiFeed) and Regional Retail brands (Pryde’s, CopRice, SavourLife), you will nurture & grow our racing and breeding customer base in NSW. You will also grow SunRice’s portfolio of regional retail brands (Pryde’s, CopRice, SavourLife), achieving the volume and revenue sales targets, and managing and building relationships with Regional Retail stores within the Hunter Valley territory.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial Equine – NSW (approx. 50% of time)
- Call coverage: Visit racing and breeding customers (new and prospects).
- Support customers on diet planning, pasture sampling and other services to support horse performance (working with nutrition team)
- Ensure strong service to customers, including supporting stock deliveries (working with customer service team)
- Develop and execute plans to engage and convert new racing and breeding customers in NSW (working with RSM Commercial & Nutrition teams).
- Ensure delivery of Commercial Equine volume targets for the region, and delivery of new Commercial Equine customer targets.
- Use strategic relationships to the benefit of the Commercial Equine team.
Regional Retail – Hunter Valley (approx. 50% of time)
- Call Coverage: Deliver the required store visits as assigned to your call cycle objectives.
- Distribution: Grow distribution of the Regional Retail portfolio throughout the territory and achieve distribution targets on the Core Range.
- Activation: Achieve monthly / quarterly instore activation objectives.
- Achieve monthly / quarterly / annual volume and revenue targets.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with the customers in your territory and provide timely and effective solutions aligned with customers’ needs.
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics in your territory, and suggest improvements as needed.
- Ensure marketing and promotional activities are executed in store
About You
You’re a results-driven professional with a deep understanding and passion for the equine industry (particularly racing & breeding). You have commercial acumen; results driven and thrive in a dynamic team environment. You enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a wider team achieving goals and driving new pathways to growth in your designated territory. Building strong customer relationships comes to you naturally
You will also have:
- Formal qualifications in business / sales / animal nutrition (desirable).
- Solid experience in equine nutrition / feed sales (essential).
- Understanding and experience of the commercial equine industry (breeding and training) (essential).
- In depth understanding of the Regional Retail channel.
- Sales experience within the pet / animal feed categories.
- Proven experience in delivering sales results.
- Proven experience in being able to successfully win new customers.
- Previous experience managing and growing a territory.
