Job Summary

From micro-services to the latest Machine Learning (ML)/Language Models (LM) technology, NetApp KDE team covers a wide gamut of technologies and applications, to deliver compelling solutions for our business. 

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maintaining, enhancing, and implementing our products. This internship will provide valuable exposure to the field of engineering and an opportunity to develop essential skills in developing, documenting, presenting, and problem-solving. 

As part of your internship, you will be working on projects to use AI within NetApp's knowledgebase system to analyze and/or classify. 

    Essential Functions

    • Provide feedback and progress updates through via various channels, including phone and email. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to our products and services. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues. 
    • Assist in the testing and evaluation of new product features and enhancements. 
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, knowledge base articles, and FAQs. 
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and skills. 

    Job Requirements

    • Work collaboratively within teams to meet goals and high-quality standards. 
    • Proven aptitude for learning new technologies and processes. 
    • Creative and analytical approach to problem solving. 
    • Ability to collaborate and coordinate project activities. 
    • Familiarity of basic concepts of computer architecture, data structures and standard programming practices. 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

    Other skills required

    • Any Programming skills: preferably C#, Python 
    • Experience with AI  and use of AI in projects is preferred 
    • Good interpersonal communication and the ability to work independent are needed in order to work successfully in a distributed environment.  
    • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how apply them is a fast-pacing, ever changing environment 
    • Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices. 
    • Creative approach to problem solving. 
    • Basic understanding or eagerness to learn the following
      • Linux/Docker 
      • ML/LM 
      • Test-Cases 
      • MongoDB 
      • Jira 
      • Bitbucket  
    • Familiar with Virtualization and Cloud Technologies an advantage   
    • Additional European language skills (e.g., French, German, Spanish) are an advantage, but not essential. 

    Your profile

    • You must be a current student of a bachelor’s degree in one of the following technical disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related subjects like Mathematics, Physics.
    • This role is open to 3rd year students looking for a 6–8-month internship as part of their degree program. 
    • You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship.
