Job Description:

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an enthusiastic and data-driven Business System Data Analyst to join our Worldwide Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about data analytics and automation technologies to make a real impact. You'll play a crucial role in bringing innovative BI solutions across our global operations, including Supply Chain, Planning, Trade & Logistics, Service Logistics, Order Operations, Technical Operations, and Business Systems.

In this role, you'll work closely with various operations teams to identify opportunities where data analytics and automation can enhance efficiency and create new capabilities. You'll be instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable insights that streamline processes and improve decision-making. While your primary focus will be within Worldwide Operations, you'll also collaborate with our IT team to ensure seamless integration and leverage existing infrastructure.

Your Impact

  • Business Ad-hoc Support: Server as a subject matter expert for supply chain and tech ops data, provide guidance on data availability, quality and interpretation, prepare ad-hoc analysis and presentations to support specific business initiatives and answer business questions.
  • Data Analysis and insight Generation: Query, analyze large and complex data related to supply chain and technical operations, identify key trends, root causes of inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, develop, monitor and maintain key performance indicators and dashboards that provide supply chain and technical operation health and performance.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Design, build, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Looker. Automate reporting to ensure timely and accurate delivery of critical data information to business stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Planning, Trade & Logistics, Service Logistics, Order Operations, Technical Operations, Finance to understand their business requirements and translate into technical data solutions. Effectively communicate complex analytics findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
  • Technical and Process Improvement: Collaborate with IT data pipeline teams to ensure data pipeline integrity, quality, and accessibility for analytical purposes, draft BRD for data pipeline requests. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in business intelligence and data analytics.
  • System Support: Maintain and Update SKU setup in SAP Product Master, partner with the internal Business Systems team to drive enhancements and ensure accurate data maintenance within key enterprise platforms like SAP and Salesforce.
Qualifications:

Your Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline required
  • 5 to 8 years of combined working experience in the operations/supply chain domain (e.g., NPI, planning, sourcing, manufacturing, cost, inventory, order fulfillment, logistics, reverse-logistics, technical operations).
  • 2 years in a role involving BI, automation, data analysis, or process improvement related to digital transformation. 
  • Working knowledge with enterprise systems, including ERP platforms (e.g., SAP) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Proficiency with SQL with relational databases, BI (Business Intelligence) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Qlik) for telling stories with data.
  • Experience using Python(pandas, numpy) on data manipulation and automation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AI technologies, including prompt engineering for Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning concepts (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning), natural language processing (NLP), and robotic process automation (RPA) tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to cross-functional projects.
Additional Information:

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $126,000 - $188,000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
