Job Description
We are seeking a Mid-Level DevOps/IT Engineer to join our team in a client-facing capacity. This position focuses on supporting day-to-day infrastructure operations, deployment workflows, and automation tasks—enabling senior engineers and architects to remain focused on higher-level strategic initiatives. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on experience in Linux systems administration, containerized environments, CI/CD tooling, and virtualization platforms. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is essential, as is the ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and clients.
The Work
- Support daily infrastructure operations and resolve technical issues related to systems, automation pipelines, and deployment processes.
- Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, patch management, configuration, access control, and performance tuning.
- Manage and maintain VMware-based environments including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift).
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and scripting languages such as Bash and Python to streamline deployments and system tasks.
- Support CI/CD processes using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar, assisting development teams with smooth deployments.
- Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity, and systems teams to ensure secure and stable infrastructure delivery.
- Document playbooks, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting steps to promote team building, knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Interact directly with clients to gather requirements, provide support updates, and troubleshoot environment-specific issues.
Here's what you need
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- CCNA or equivalent networking fundamentals certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in DevOps, IT engineering, or Linux systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware platforms.
- Experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Experience supporting or implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and scripting languages (Bash, with Python a plus).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.) and exposure to firewalls and VPNs.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with the following technologies is beneficial: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible, Bash, Python, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
- Military experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
