As the Raw Material Planner, your primary responsibility is to bring in the right product inventory levels at the right time to support production schedule needs while achieving working capital targets. You will focus on the procurement and inventory management of raw materials, and vendor relationship management.
Partnering with cross-functional teams will be critical to ensure daily and weekly supply chain operations KPI's and metrics are achieved. This an important role within the PPG supply chain and will have an impact to the Oak Creek plant performance and overall customer satisfaction. You will report to the Raw material planner Manager and work onsite in Oak Creek Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
- Place purchase orders with vendors and track delivers throughout the ordering cycle and evaluate inventory projections over a rolling 12-month period.
- Analyze MRP and action messages for procurement of supply chain requirements with the focus being short to medium term (1 to 6 months).
- Communicate and escalate any supply concerns and collaborate with supply chain operations teams, and procurement from discovery through resolution.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials to meet Oracle timing requirements and follow the short-term weekly production schedule needs by anticipating and mitigating any raw material delays.
- Work with the warehouse, purchasing, or supplier quality teams to resolve receipt and invoicing related problems or incoming RM quality issues.
- Maintain assigned raw material items inventory health.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 7 years of professional experience as a planner/buy with planning either raw materials or finished goods with a bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, logistics, engineering, or related field; OR 10+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing facility
- Oracle, SAP, or other ERP system experience preferred
- Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is recommended
- Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (MS Power BI) or SQL applications is a plus
