The Role

Revalue Nature is excited to bring in a Biodiversity Specialist into our Science team. The Biodiversity Specialist will lead Revalue's efforts in scaling and differentiating biodiversity in nature based project. They will be an integral part of the Science team, playing a leadership role in the team, and will also collaborate across the organization to champion Revalue's approach to biodiversity to both internal and external stakeholders.

What You Will Do

• Leadership And Strategy
• Lead the conceptualisation and development of Revalue’s biodiversity program under Revalues remit of rethinking carbon projects from the ground up.
• Design resilient and sustainable biodiversity components for Revalue's AUDD and ARR projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry standards.
• Analyse potential trade-offs between carbon, stakeholder, and biodiversity considerations in project design.
• Serve as primary point of contact for engaging project proponents, commercial entities and relevant stakeholders on biodiversity-related aspects of all projects.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and development partners through proactive and professional communication.
• Work with Revalues product labs to identify biodiversity products that provide the greatest added value to carbon credits and moving forward biodiversity credits.
• Identify and explore opportunities for Revalue to engage with the emerging biodiversity credits market, contributing to Revalue’s strategic growth objectives.
• Quality Project Implementation And Oversight
• Collaborate with project partners to develop biodiversity baselines and monitoring approaches.
• Provide direction and advisory support to regional staff and project partners to ensure accountability for project excellence.
• Conduct research studies to identify pressing pressures on biodiversity within each project area.
• Lead quality assessment and control of projects, ensuring adherence to high integrity standards by developing quality assurance and control procedures and ensuring their implementation.
• Maintain high level of rigor in analyses, including close adherence to the latest best practices and recommendations from the international community.
• Contribute to and assist in the development of project documents and analyses on other components, particularly carbon.
• Building The Capacity Of Revalue Staff And Partners
• Build the capacity of the Revalue team and project partners in informing, designing, interpreting and applying safeguards to our projects.
• Serve as an ambassador for Revalue to a diverse range of audiences, emphasising our unique capabilities in addressing biodiversity.
• Coordinate with regional staff and project proponents to ensure cooperation on cross-cutting issues and initiatives.
• Ability to work productively with other staff to deliver high quality and resilient carbon projects.
• Design Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for scaling biodiversity across different stages of projects lifetimes.
• Develop SOPs for working with the Data Intelligence Team to scale biodiversity products

What You Bring To The Role

• A PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience, demonstrating deep expertise and commitment to your area of study.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time, such as academic papers or conservation initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with conservation projects, particularly in tropical regions.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the year, with trips lasting 1-2 weeks.
• Proficiency in GIS, R, and other geospatial or statistical software is a valuable asset.
