Chemical Mixer Operator at BUCKEYE FIRE & EQUIPMENT CO

Description

The Primary function for the chemical mixer operator is manufacture industrial dry chemical within underwriter laboratories specifications. 

Full-time employees are eligible for a weekly attendance bonus! Eligible employees can receive an additional $1 per hour, for every hour worked, in addition to their hourly wages for working their scheduled shift.

The Main roles / Employee tasks: 

• Observe and obey all safety precautions within the company’s rules and guidelines.
• Monitor control panels, instruments, or products to make sure that specified conditions are maintained.
• Control and operate equipment used for chemical processing 
• Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients, according to specifications.
• Inspect equipment and work areas to detect leaks or malfunctions, shutting equipment down if necessary.
• Test product samples for density and particle size, chemical characteristics with quality checks
• Draw samples of products at specified stages so that analyses can be performed.
• Record operational data, like temperatures, ingredients used, processing times, for test results.
• Notify maintenance engineers of equipment malfunctions.
• Open valves or start pumps, blowers, or automatic feed of materials.
• Read plant specifications to define products, ingredients, or prescribed modifications of plant procedures.
