Our innovative approach uses advanced data collection to increase the efficiency of our machine learning analyses and monitor comprehensive refurbishment projects. Our aim is not only to provide urban development proposals, but also a comprehensive project development calculation that takes into account financial aspects such as rents, construction costs, tax benefits and government subsidies for energy-efficient refurbishments. This enables us to quickly generate economic forecasts that support investment decisions in the refurbishment sector.TasksPosition OverviewENERsyte is a special research project. It focuses on building a prototype for a product in a user-centric and iterative way. Thus the nature of the project is a magic symbiosis of research and agile product development.As the Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable pipelines to process data and compute ML models. To achieve this, you will be researching and applying the latest technological standards. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the availability, accuracy, and reliability of our data. Your expertise in data engineering and best practices will be essential in optimizing performance and enabling our ambitious AI projects.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable pipelines to process data and run machine learning models
  • Build and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions
  • Research and apply the latest cutting edge standards for building scalable data infrastructures in the cloud
  • Collaborate with data scientists and other team members to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions
Requirements
  • 4+ years practical experience as a data engineer or similar role
  • Theoretical foundation in data engineering and/or database theory
  • Practical experience in building and operating data heavy and processing heavy pipelines
  • Experience in Cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform
  • Expertise in automation/orchestration tools (e.g. Kubeflow, Airflow, Dagster, Dataform, Prefect)
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong communication skills
