Description

The Revenue Cycle Patient Liaison assists patients and their caregivers with any non-medical questions or concerns. 


Revenue Cycle Patient Liasion Essential Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact for patient billing issues
  • Acts as a liaison with the Patient, the Call Center, and the Care Centers to ensure resolution in billing issues and patient account discrepancies
  • Thoroughly analyze individual claim inquiries (Authorization/Mismatch Denials; COB; Credentialing, etc.) to assist patients in resolving their concerns
  • Perform insurance verification via appropriate platforms – i.e. Availity, PEAR, NaviNet, UHC, etc.
  • Update patients’ insurance in eClinicalWorks (eCW) as identified. Verify insurance benefits and request the eCW RCM Team to submit to the payer(s)
  • Follow up with patients on their billing concerns in a prompt and professional manner
  • Participate in the evolution and refinement of quality improvement processes
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations and industry requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Working knowledge of medical insurance/medical terminology; insurance cards and major medical benefits; insurance rules and contracts.
  • Basic business skills with a moderate level of proficiency, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • eCW (eClinicalWorks) experience.
  • Two years of experience as a medical biller.
  • Two years of medical office experience.
