Duties & Responsibilities:
New Product Introduction (NPI) for VIAVI market leading Computer Storage Test platform.
Provide DFT direction to R&D at the concept stage of new product development.
Test development and ongoing continuous improvement for the test solutions.
Design, develop, and influence the various automated production systems required to implement the product test strategy.
Devise the overall manufacturing and service and configuration strategy for new products and optimize manufacturing & service calibration and test.
Detailed project planning to ensure that all production systems are developed, debugged, and validated in time for production pilot run.
Partner with R&D and Mfg. Engineering to develop contract manufacturing ready and reliable test systems, jigs & fixturing.
Effective use of Gage R&R and measure system evaluation tools in NPI to ensure stable test system are deployed in manufacturing and service.
Installation and validation of production systems at the final production facility.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
4-year Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Optical Engineering or Physics.
Minimum 4 years’ experience developing automated tests, both hardware and software.
Knowledge of high-speed digital test environments / equipment.
LabWindows CVI programming experience (LabVIEW).
Experience with National Instruments TestStand would be beneficial.
Experienced in a structured programming language (such as C / C++).
Python or other scripting-based programming experience.
Experience in PCBA level test methods.
SQL database programming experience for test record and data management.
Demonstrated project planning / management skills.
Process improvement and data analysis – knowledge of Lean principles or equivalent experience.
Must be a self-starter, strong team player and demonstrate leadership skills.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Language – fluent in German and English.
