This is a remote position.

My client is a global manufacturer of products in the tobacco replacement, nicotine replacement, heated tobacco, e-liquid, and vaping market. They employ over 10k people worldwide, and operate and sell in every continent. They are looking for a Marketing professional in Europe to both provide market insights to senior management, and also engage in product development, advising on market trends, both current and future. This role will require extensive travel to China and across Europe. It is offered on a remote basis from anywhere in a location easily commutable from Zurich, Switzerland (eg northern Italy, western France, southern Germany, Austria, or even a short flight from London).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Use this data to inform product development and sales strategies. Find ways to test our solutions quickly with internal stakeholders, customers & consumers.
  • Consumer and customer Insights: Gather and analyse consumer needs and customer requirements to understand their preferences, pain points, and satisfaction levels. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for product improvement and sales.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends, particularly in sensory preferences. Use this knowledge to guide the development of innovative and market-leading products.
  • Sensory Development Management: Lead the sensory development process for customers on both electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create sensory experiences that align with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse data from various sources (including customers, competition and retailers) to identify key insights and trends. Prepare and present reports to management, offering strategic recommendations based on your findings.
  • Customer Engagement: Communicate with customers to gather insights and feedback. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product development, project management, engineering, research and sales teams to ensure that customer insights and market trends are effectively integrated into our products and campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a marketing insights, market research, e-liquid development or a related role. 1-2 years’ experience in e-cigarette industry is a plus;
  • Proven ability to manage and analyse complex data sets, with an ability for identifying actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly, briefly and effectively.
  • Open-minded, curious, and perseverant with a passion for understanding market dynamics and customer behaviour.
  • Ability to taste vaping products. Experience in flavour development or a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Some experience with product management and product performance metrics preferred.
  • Experience working with China is a plus (product and R&D teams are based in China).

My client is offering a basic salary of up to 50k Euros, and a range of big-company benefits.
