About The Role

The product team owns Rippling’s product direction, defining what to build in order to solve customer problems in a way that allows them to succeed. We do this by intimately understanding the market, our customers, and the perspectives of our key stakeholders and synthesizing that into a product that is effective, efficient, and easy to use.

In this role, you’ll be making sure that our product delivers the same delightful experience to our customers within the French language context. You’ll partner closely with in-country teams to understand Rippling’s tone and voice, and ensure that our translation vendors are equipped with linguistic assets and tools to continually improve the quality of our translated content. You’ll also work closely with other internal teams (legal, marketing) to ensure that we have the appropriate vendor staffing to support their unique needs. You’ll be the owner of French language quality for the company, with the expectation that you’ll extend the process/systems you build to another language within our broader language portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • You will own the ongoing improvement of our French language terminology across products and domains
  • You will establish and drive ongoing maintenance of our French language style guide used by translation vendors to centralize key information about how we communicate our products and services in French language
  • You will work closely with our vendors to create recruitment and training resources that ensure translators have what they need to be successful within the Rippling localization program
  • You will facilitate weekly discussions with the French translation team (CET timezone) to unblock issues encountered and gather program-level feedback
  • You will step in to translate or review high-touch content for internal customers when needed
  • You will proactively look for opportunities to fix French language bugs in both product and marketing content
  • You will help stand up our quality management program and ensure that we’re effectively measuring both translation quality and its impact to our customers

What You Will Need

  • 6+ years of experience as a translator/reviewer within a managed translation program (English ? French), preferably for a technology client in the HR, payroll, or recruiting software space
  • 2+ years of experience as a lead translator, reviewer, or in-house language lead for French (France)
  • Experience with Translation Management Systems and CAT tools (Smartling, Phrase TMS, XTM)
  • A deep understanding of DQF-MQM framework and managing language quality programs at a large scale
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship management & organizational skills
  • Nice-to-have: working proficiency in another European language such as: German, Dutch, Spanish, or Polish
  • Self-starter with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to motivate and inspire people to do their best work
