What you'll be working on
- Updating and revising a collaborative memoir about real-life STEM role models for children
- We will do a online interview to get updated information and stories
- Researching any changes in the subjects' careers or lives in the past 6 years
- Rewriting sections of the memoir to reflect the updated information
- Conducting phone or video interviews with the memoir subjects
- Fact checking all updated information
- Rewriting and restructuring sections of the memoir manuscript
- Ensuring the tone and style aligns with the target audience of children
- Submitting drafts to the client for feedback and approval
- Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills for a child audience
- Experience interviewing subjects and incorporating quotes
- Ability to fact check information accurately
- Strong research skills to verify updated career details
- Familiarity with STEM fields and concepts for children a plus
- Meticulous editing and proofreading abilities
