We are looking for a new Trustee with experience in monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEL) to help us move our localisation strategy forward by training a MEL Officer in Rwanda!

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a motivated volunteer with experience in monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEL) who can help train an MEL professional in Rwanda. We are here to give as much support as we can!
What will you be doing?
To move towards a more localised form of international development, we are trying to build MEL capacity within our team in Rwanda so that they can monitor project implementation independently of volunteers in the UK. This will also be a key part of enabling the team in Rwanda to demonstrate impact to fundraisers. Therefore, we are seeking someone with experience in MEL who would be willing to take on this challenge! In addition, we would expect the volunteer to become a trustee of the board of Children of Rwanda UK. What would you be doing? Ideally, the volunteer would help train a MEL Officer who will be based in Rwanda. This may include establishing MEL frameworks for specific programmes and/or training them to use data collection tools. Why is this important? We firmly believe that the decision-making power within an NGO should be held by the community in which the projects are being delivered. We have made tremendous progress towards making our team in Rwanda an independent and self-reliant entity that does not rely on volunteers from the UK. However, for this to be truly meaningful, the Rwandan Team need to be able to conduct MEL, which will also further support fundraising.
