About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you’ll perform research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software or product line. You will use your expertise to solve problems including the design of the program flow, code and unit testing.
Responsibilities
- Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
- Working closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
- Collaborating with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
- Implementing development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Resolving technical issues and completing bug fixes, as necessary.
Requirements
- Demonstrate extensive experience in software engineering
- Have a degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Have experience or familiarity of data modeling principles
- Show a proficiency with data manipulation languages
- Display an ability to work with complex data models
- Have experience in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JS, XML, SQL
- Show the ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
- Have knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), data storage subsystems, and test driven development
- Have experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Lucene, Solr or Elasticsearch is highly desirable
