- Digital Health Innovation (DHI) delivers provincial digital health strategies and business transformations by relentlessly focusing on the end user and the end-to-end health services journey for everyone in British Columbia.
- We concentrate on the design and delivery of digital health tools and platforms to support the ongoing evolution of a connected health system and digitally enabled health care. By collaborating with all provincial health sector partners, we ensure an equitable approach to addressing health sector priorities.
- DHI is part of the Provincial Digital Health & Information Services (PDHIS) portfolio that was formed in July 2022 to enable our BC health system more effectively digitally and virtually.
- PDHIS brings together many organizational units from different parts of client into one portfolio and includes a close partnership with the Ministry of Health to deliver on the BC Digital Health Strategy.
- Our client Digital Health Initiative is deploying the Ocean Digital Referral platform to transform clinical referrals, orders, and consults to a standard digital platform that operates across EMRs. Part of the Ocean Digital Referral platform is the Ocean Health Map.
- The Health Map is a SaaS-based GIS tool that displays clinician service providers’ locations according to their GIS coordinates.
- The DHI will utilize numerous data sources to identify, transform, and generate the provider and service locations on the Health Map.
- The initiative requires a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement the data management solution.
- Previous experience as a data modeler, engineer or experience in a similar role.
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python).
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design.
- R, Common high-level query language.
- Experience analyzing, handling data, and recommending solutions in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience designing data models.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a master's is a plus.
- Data engineering certification (e.g. IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus.
