Description

 

Position Description:
The Community Engagement Specialist builds and maintains relationships with community stakeholders, other nonprofits, and local leaders, to promote the organization's mission and programs. They act as a liaison, translate organizational goals into community initiatives, and develop strategies to engage the public. 

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field.
  2. Three plus years’ experience in marketing, community relations, volunteerism; fund raising experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge and skills of computer and of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, etc. Knowledge and skills of Google Suite; CRM experience preferred.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  5. Adaptability to flexible working hours, including occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
  6. Ability to work independently, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong organizational skills.
  8. Must be eligible for Pennsylvania State Police clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance and FBI clearance.
  9. Ability to identify with Agency Mission Statement and support the Agency's Core Values.
  10. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.  

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:
  1. Facilitate and oversee agency volunteer program, including recruitment, applications and paperwork, orientation, scheduling and recognition.
  2. Assist with agency in-kind drives.
  3. Represent the agency at community tabling events. Assemble marketing kits and ensure that the marketing closet is stocked.
  4. Represent the agency at community and membership group meetings, including ZABA, Rotary, Special Needs Consortium, BCF, etc. 
  5. Oversee agency social media, including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc., creating and scheduling content.
  6. Coordinate and distribute quarterly e-newsletter.
  7. Represent the agency at various internal committee meetings and communicate information from those meetings to relevant agency departments.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned and assist with fund raising events and marketing activities conducted by the resource development/marketing department.
