Responsibilities
- Assemble, calibrate, modify, and repair production and test tooling based on engineering drawings, work instructions, or CAD models
- Support the build and installation of custom fixtures, alignment jigs, lifting equipment, and production aids
- Work with engineers and technicians to iterate on tooling design for ergonomics, durability, and manufacturability
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, and manage tooling lifecycle documentation
- Track tooling inventory and support inspections, certifications, and load testing as required
- Maintain a safe and organized tooling work area and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma of equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in tooling, fabrication, machining, or mechanical assembly — preferably in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with aerospace or spaceflight hardware and tooling
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and digital work instructions
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
