As Senior Software Developer at Absolute Software you will join a high performing scrum team specializing in large scale C++ and SQL development. You will work as part of a scrum team, participating in planning and executing sprints. You will contribute to design and architecture, research solutions, build out new features, and help to improve the overall quality of our code base. You are a fast learner, a team player, and consistently deliver on your commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Translate application user stories into functional applications
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++ or C# code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications and DB
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and fix them!
• Document the investigation, root cause, solution, and design
• Write and maintain high quality unit tests and perform code reviews
• Follow the Absolute Secure Agile SDLC, and the Definition of Done
• Work with your scrum team to continuously improve the quality and the value of the product

What You Will Bring:

• Minimum B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 5 years of software development experience in a professional capacity
• Proficient in C++ and at least one of C#, Java, or Go on Windows, Mac, or Linux
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Experience with multithreaded programming, including thread safety, communication, and optimization
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and common design patterns
• Understanding of large-scale RDBMS design and performance issues
• Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
• Experience working with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and development/deployment tools like JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab, and ArgoCD
• Experience with secure communication and encryption standards – TLS, PKI, FIPS 140-2
• Experience with cloud computing, AWS, Load Balancers, Proxies, Service Mesh

The Canada base pay range for this position is from CAD $115,000 -$145,000 annually; the base pay offered is determined by the market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program.
