Marketing Director 

The Marketing Director is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for driving revenue growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. This role blends classic marketing leadership with deep expertise in marketing technology and project management, ensuring the organization stays ahead of industry shifts and delivers measurable business results.

This role is for a strategic builder and operator. Someone who can architect the marketing function for today’s challenges, leverage technology for outsized impact, and lead teams through change with clarity and confidence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & C-Suite Alignment 
    • Partner with executive leadership to align marketing strategy with business objectives and financial targets.
    • Translate company vision into actionable marketing plans that deliver cash flow and sustainable growth.
  • Market Strategy & Brand Awareness 
    • Develop and execute integrated market strategies to build brand equity and drive lead generation.
    • Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and creative direction across all channels.
  • Lead Generation & Program Execution 
    • Architect and optimize lead generation strategies, processes, and campaigns (digital, ABM, social, events).
    • Manage execution of both digital and physical marketing programs, ensuring high ROI and continuous improvement.
  • MarTech Stack Ownership 
    • Lead the strategy, selection, implementation, and optimization of the marketing technology stack (CRM, automation, analytics, content management, etc.).
    • Stay current on emerging MarTech trends, with a focus on practical AI adoption and integration.
    • Ensure data-driven decision-making and marketing performance measurement.
  • Project Management 
    • Oversee complex, cross-functional marketing projects from concept to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
    • Implement agile methodologies and project management best practices to accelerate execution and adaptability.
  • Content & Creative Oversight 
    • Direct content strategy and creative development, leveraging internal and external resources as needed.
    • Ensure consistent brand voice and high-quality output across all touchpoints.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development 
    • Recruit, develop, and retain top marketing talent; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Mentor team members in MarTech adoption, project management, and data-driven marketing.
  • Analytics & Voice of the Customer 
    • Champion marketing analytics, customer sentiment analysis, and NPS programs to inform strategy and improve customer experience.
    • Collaborate with Product Marketing and other departments to ensure customer insights drive business decisions.
  • Change Management & Organizational Agility 
    • Lead organizational change initiatives to adapt to evolving marketing technologies and operating models.
    • Build new capabilities and processes to keep pace with market and technology shifts.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including direct management of teams and budgets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing technology strategy, implementation, and optimization (CRM, automation, analytics, content management, etc.).
  • Proven track record of successful project management in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (PMP or Agile certification a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing analytics, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience leading both digital and physical marketing programs (ABM, social, events, tradeshows).
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing marketing teams.
  • Experience managing change and driving adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • High comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and rapid iteration.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with AI-powered marketing tools and practical AI adoption.
  • Background in both in-sourced and blended/outsourced marketing models.
  • Experience in B2B and/or complex sales environments.
