General Notes
Applicants must be enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin. Must be authorized to work in the US. Position is security sensitive, hiring decision is contingent upon successful completion of background check. Hours are flexible between 10-20 hours per week Monday through Friday.
Purpose
Assist College of Natural Sciences facilities team to complete facilities planning tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist CNS facilities team with space planning tasks and GIS mapping. Update building floorplans and occupant data within ESRI ArcGIS Indoors software. Digitally scan existing spaces with equipment and training provided by the college.
Assist with small projects such as clearing unused offices/rooms and documenting (measure/photograph) project spaces.
Assist with completion of annual facilities space audits.
Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must be actively enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Completed coursework and demonstrated proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Regular and punctual attendance.
Ability to work independently as well as with peers and management.
Enjoys learning and solving problems.
Excellent collaboration and team-focused mindset.
Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Completed community college or university coursework in business management, science, engineering, technology, mathematics, construction, or project management.
Experience producing professional communication documents using word processing software.
Proficient (3+ years of experience) with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop), and/or Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE)
Salary Range
$13.00 per hour
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of computer equipment. Reasonable lifting and moving. Wear appropriate office attire. Work as a team member as well as independently. Accept supervision.
