[What the role is]

​​- Review and assess licensee's proposed Ten-Year Transmission Network Development Plan in meeting the planning criteria to ensure the secure and reliable operation of the electricity and natural gas systems. System studies include contingency analysis, fault level studies and stability studies.
- Perform system studies to assess impact to the electricity and gas systems with new proposed power plants or consumer's installation connected.
- Review power plants' performance to check compliance to technical regulatory requirements which includes on-site witnessing of generator testing.
- Integration of new Transmission/Generation technologies to power system. Technical solutions such as Energy Storage System (ESS), HVDC, electricity import and large scale PV generation.
- Conduct study on electricity & gas interdependency to ensure sufficient survival time for gas network and security and stability of power system.
- Conduct power system studies such as review of underfrequency load shedding scheme, solar PV penetration etc to ensure security and stability of power system.
- Regular review technical requirements for facility providing ancillary services to maintain security and stability of power system
- Conduct technical review of proposed facility that potentially providing the ancillary service through the procurement process by EMC.
- Regular review of Code/market rules/system operation manuals requirement to ensure its up-to-date.
- Review facility registration for participation in NEMS and compliance to Market Rules/System Operation Manual.
- Oversee and coordinate all phases of the facility registration process, engaging with stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant registration.​

Requirements:
- Relevant background or specialization in Engineering studies
- Following knowledge/experience will be advantageous: Power system studies and analysis including power system dynamics, power flow, natural gas flow and short circuit analysis; Design, commissioning and grid integration studies of renewable energy sources and energy storage system.
- Team player who is responsible with good working attitude, initiative and ability to work independently.
