Your role and responsibilities
As a Delivery Consultant specializing in Technology Expert Labs for Application Development within IBM's Automation Platform, you will provide clients with world-class services to optimize the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of their Application Development products. This role involves delivering expert services to help clients achieve maximum value from their technology investments. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Lead Client Engagements: Manage and deliver consulting services to clients, ensuring successful adoption and usage of Application Development products, including Cloud Pak for Applications, DevOps, and WebSphere Application Server. • Optimize Product Configuration: Develop and implement optimal configuration and deployment strategies for clients' Application Development products to improve efficiency and effectiveness. • Analyze Client Needs: Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and identify opportunities to improve their Application Development product usage and adoption. • Deliver Solution Implementations: Design and implement solutions to meet clients' specific needs, leveraging expertise in Application Development products and industry best practices. • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer expert advice and guidance to clients on best practices for Application Development product usage, adoption, and maintenance.
Required technical and professional expertise
Must have minimum 12-18 year’s experience with Container Technologies, Cloud infrastructure
Expertise container technologies, Redhat OpenShift, CoreOS, Kubernetes, Cloud skills, and networking protocols. Relevant RedHat certifications is a must
Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, Cloud Pak for Application - including its configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis
Strong experience with WAS (Websphere Application Server) Administration, including its optimization and maintenance
Strong experience with Liberty / Quarkus / JBoss
Perform administrative processes for all cloud systems, including installation, backup, security, array management and software patching
Must have strong experience administrating, building & deploying services on Kubernetes/OCP, Ansible cloud management
Hands-on public cloud experience - AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure. Prefer industry certification (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps / Solutions Architect)
Experience working with hosted applications or large-scale application deployments
Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Good experience with Linux Administration and Linux Tools, with an emphasis on curl, strace, wireshark and using git
Good understanding of Unix and Windows platforms and IP networks
Proficiency in networking skills, such as UDP and TCP
Troubleshoot technical issues (networking, web apps, operating system, file system and user management) in the deployment of high-speed file transfer software in enterprise
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory/Group Policy, LDAP, SAML, SSO, etc.
Scripting skills, such as Unix shell, Windows batch, Perl, Ruby or Python
Basic skills in database server (MySQL) administration
Communication and customer focus skills -be able to understand customer problems and articulate current status to customers
Ability to communicate action plans to the client or IBM representative as appropriate
Ability to recommend and implement new or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes
Technical Leadership setting the strategies for Customers and Lead internal customer facing teams
Preferred technical and professional experience
DevOps Expertise: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, particularly in relation to Application Development products, is advantageous for delivering high-quality consulting services
Good Working knowledge of Terraform, ArgoCD, bitbucket, Github, Gitlab and Ansible for performing DevOps on cloud platforms
Hands-on development experience in one or more modern languages and frameworks: Java/Springboot, Golang, Python, JS/NodeJS, Rust
Proficiency with AI (preferably bob) - understanding the basics of AI, Work with AI to create tasks, Including AI to the work strategies, Automating repeatable tasks with AI
Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability Tools: DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, Geneos, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Zipkin, Splunk
Experience working with hosted applications or large-scale application deployments
