Gracenote, the content data division of Nielsen, powers innovative entertainment experiences for leading media companies worldwide. Our advanced entertainment metadata and connected IDs enable seamless content navigation and discovery, helping consumers connect to the content they love and explore new favorites. With a global presence, Gracenote delivers both global and localized video, audio, automotive & sports content solutions across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Some of the biggest names who trust Gracenote are Jio, Amazon, NBC, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, Sony etc. 

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Gracenote Tech team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Clean Code, Low level design, Test-Driven Development (TDD) & independently drive the implementation.

Job Purpose:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing Gracenote’s flagship software solutions for Video, Audio, Automotive, and Sports metadata. You will focus on creating high-performance applications with a platform-first mindset, ensuring scalability, consistency, and reliability are at the core of every decision.

 

Job Description:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using Python. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, while also ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust Python applications.

  • Design and implement advanced agentic workflows and orchestration layers using frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, or similar technologies to automate complex data processing and decision-making tasks.

  • Integrate large language models (LLMs) and other AI components into the metadata platform to build intelligent, multi-step systems.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and resolve issues.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience in software development

  • Proficiency in Python is required.

  • Proficiency in web frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar.

  • Experience with data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) or machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs ,microservices architecture and event driven design

  • Knowledge of OOPs, design patterns and software engineering concepts

  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and SQL.

  • Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD tools and practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD tools and practices.

  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
