Your role and responsibilities

A Software Developer for OpenShift AI on Z team is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud native applications. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design and Develop Solutions: Design, code, debug, test, and deliver creative solutions to problems and requirements in AI frameworks.

• Collaborate with Teams: Work in an agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions that meet client needs.

• Apply Design Thinking: Employ IBM's Design Thinking to create solutions that provide a great user experience along with world-class quality, resiliency, performance, security, and stability.

• Work on leading-edge projects using technologies like machine learning, LLM's, and other AI-related areas to drive innovation and solution delivery.

• Ensure Solution Quality: Ensure that solutions meet the required standards for quality, resiliency, performance, security, and stability.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5-10 years of industrial experience in working with Unix/Linux based products developed using Python/C++/Golang programming language.

• Experience in software engineering with very good understanding of fundamentals of containers and Kubernetes platform

• Must have good knowledge of virtualization, Linux Operating systems internals and systems programming skills.

• Expertise to Translate Technical specification or customer requirements, Preparing of HLD/LLD and Working closely with Team members in translating the Specifications /design into product deliverables.

• Understanding of AI/ML model deployments, AI lifecycle, Hands on experience on deploying AI/ML models on cloud

• Experience working with Red Hat OpenShift is preferable.

• Experience in developing deployment scripts for Kubernetes based micro-services.

• Good understanding of Enterprise servers, firmware, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.

• Proven operational experience in network operations including incident, change and problem management.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals.

• Experience in working with global teams/partner labs.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Solid understanding of systems hardware & architecture

• Good Linux system programming skills

• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

• Must have an engineering mindset in addressing problems.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
