Description
VectorNav's GPS and inertial navigation technology enables customers around the world to push the envelope in their respective fields, ranging from UAVs to walking robots to self-driving cars. Achieving success requires dedicated, intelligent and insightful engineers who can adapt, communicate, and apply their expert understanding of navigation systems to the application at hand. Interns and/or co-ops will work directly with the customer engineering, system test, and product development teams to support their respective efforts, including:
- Validating performance of new sensors and algorithms in hardware
- Implementing and testing new techniques in a simulation environment
- Emulating end-user applications to characterize performance and define best-practices
- Developing software tools to support customer and in-house testing
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in-progress in aerospace engineering or similar field
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Coursework or experience working with inertial navigation systems, GPS/GNSS technology, estimation algorithms (particularly Kalman filters), and/or modern controls
- Experience working with or troubleshooting hardware and electronics (especially robotics, UAV’s, gimbal systems and/or other end applications common to VectorNav customers)
- Strong programming skills (Matlab, C++, or Python)
