Your role and responsibilities
As a Global Logistics Operations Professional, you will support the global movement of IBM directed goods and services, including inbound parts to manufacturing, finished product shipments to clients, product returns. You will build supplier and stakeholder relationships, collaborate, and plan to ensure reliable, responsive, and cost-effective logistics solutions. Your primary key responsibilities will include:
Operational Leadership

Manage day-to-day logistics operations across Australia & New Zealand remotely with the appointed logistics suppliers.

Oversee critical shipments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery performance.

Act as the first escalation point to solve delivery challenges and mitigate risks.

Provide logistics operations guidance and subject matter expertise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Interlock closely with Sales and Quote-to-Cash teams to protect revenue through timely deliveries.

Align suppliers with IBM processes, systems, and operating models for consistent service performance.

Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive resilience, continuous improvement, and lean practices.
Supplier & Performance Management

Educate logistics suppliers on IBM process expectations and service standards.

Monitor service performance and work with supplier to conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.

Validate supplier invoices; reject invalid or incorrect submissions.

Track and report invoice quality trends and recurring issues.
Financial Governance & PO Management

Develop annual logistics PO forecasts and ensure timely PO creation to avoid Financial & Procurement bypass.

Maintain sufficient PO funding to prevent billing disruptions.

Analyse logistics spend, validate PO usage, and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
Required technical and professional expertise
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor degree in Supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics operations, control tower management, supply chain operations, or freight management.

Experience managing third-party logistics suppliers and regional operations preferred.

Strong understanding of logistics processes (import/export, domestic, customs, compliance).

Hands-on experience with logistics or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, iERP and TMS platforms).
