Description

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Supply Chain Planner to manage and optimize the flow of materials, components, and information for our autonomous surface vessels. This individual will play a critical role in forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and supporting non-steady-state operations. You will partner closely with engineering, procurement, program management, and suppliers to ensure material readiness while balancing cost, risk, and schedule in dynamic environments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining our supply chain's integrity, meeting deadlines, and ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and optimize supply chain plans to ensure timely delivery of materials and components required to produce autonomous surface vessels.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to design instability, supplier capacity, lead times, and potential quality issues.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to align demand, schedules, design changes, and sourcing strategy.
  • Provide clear demand signals to procurement and suppliers to secure the timely delivery of parts and materials, ensuring high quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Support BOM maturity tracking and manage supply chain impacts of design revisions and ECOs to support project timelines and minimize excess cost.
  • Implement and maintain planning data accuracy in ERP/MRP or planning tools to track material usage, component availability, and readiness metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that production and material schedules are aligned with project timelines, especially for DoD contracts.
  • Analyze and report on supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement in lead times, inventory turnover, and supplier reliability.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain metrics and KPIs to monitor the efficiency of processes and to drive continuous improvement with balance between speed, cost and risk.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure that the right components and materials are available for prototype builds and testing phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain disruptions, escalating issues when necessary to ensure minimal impact on production.
  • Maintain accurate records of supply chain activities, including forecasts, purchase orders, and inventory reports, for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning or management, ideally in a manufacturing environment (experience with defense or advanced technology products is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with supply planning, with emphasis on non-production, NPI, and/or non-steady-state operations.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve supply chain issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of DoD regulations, standards, and compliance requirements for defense-related manufacturing (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing and walking within the office.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
