Role Summary

The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for managing customer orders, maintaining accurate data entry, and ensuring seamless communication between customers and internal teams. This role supports quoting, inventory coordination, reporting, and contributes to revenue growth through strategic inside sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

Key Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional customer experience throughout the order lifecycle.
  • Manage all aspects of account activity, including order entry, pricing verification, specification review, and timely delivery coordination.
  • Proactively monitor account performance, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that drive revenue.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, forecasts, and inventory needs to support strategic planning and ensure on-time fulfillment.
  • Resolve issues promptly and effectively, acting as a trusted partner to strengthen long-term relationships with critical accounts.

Execute Upselling Strategies

  • Support revenue growth by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities during order management and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to monitor pipeline health and provide timely updates that enable proactive revenue-driving actions.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication, helping to uncover additional product needs and growth opportunities.

General Order Management

  • Perform price checks on incoming purchase orders (POs) for accuracy.
  • Review specification numbers (Spec #) and component tracking numbers (CT #) for each part number on POs.
  • Verify and communicate internal ship dates to customers.
  • Process order entry, confirmations, and change notices in the system.
  • Maintain daily communication with customers regarding order status, changes, and inquiries.
  • Pull orders from customer portals and enter them into the ITW system.
  • Use portals to obtain forecasts, confirm firm orders, and manage inventory relief through MRD.

Specification Development & Revisions

  • Collect customer specification data required for costing and quoting processes.
  • Initiate internal communication for spec development or revisions.
  • Coordinate completion of spec updates with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Process specifications identified for ganging.
  • Update serial numbers for barcode customers.
  • Set up new customer designs in Bartender (BT) software.

Quality Management

  • Gather customer data and initiate processes related to Returned Goods Authorizations.

Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with Purchasing to manage intercompany inventory levels.

Sales Reporting

  • Update weekly sales reports and tally guides for internal tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience in business, sales, or related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in inside sales, order management, or customer service.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office Suite; experience with Bartender software a plus.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in resolving order-related issues and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or packaging industry.
  • Familiarity with customer portals and inventory management systems.

Compensation Information:

$25.00 - $28.00
