QUALITY ENGINEER

The role of the Quality Engineer combines Quality Assurance (QA) and Regulatory responsibilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards while driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As our Quality Engineer, you are responsible for:

 

  • Apply process improvement tools (statistical process control, control charts, design of experiments, lean methodology, process capability studies) to identify, prioritize and eliminate quality losses
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify, prioritize and eliminate quality losses
  • Interact with cross-functional partners and Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure effective implementation of new products
  • Own change management and validation processes for designated operations; Update process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur
  • Develop standards and provide training to line technicians to reduce defects and support continuous improvement
  • Support operating department by establishing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management System
  • Drive cost savings through improved productivity, material utilization improvements and labor optimization
  • Develop innovative process equipment solutions to deliver superior quality products
  • Assess vendor performance using KPI scorecards and conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with standards and continuous improvement
  • Oversee bulk pre-weigh to ensure accuracy, compliance with GMP requirements, and readiness for production

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

We’d love to see candidates who have:

 

Essential:

 

  • B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 1–3+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with expertise in root cause problem solving, Lean Manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes and mathematical/engineering methods for problem-solving
  • Strong analytical skills in KPI reporting, gap analysis, Kaizen, Loss Tree, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 5-Whys
  • Proficiency with Lean tools (poka yoke, pFMEA, SMED, standard work, value stream mapping, TPM, 5S, continuous flow, visual factory, pull systems/Kanban)
  • Working knowledge of equipment and process validation, statistical sampling methods, and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Excellent computer literacy and communication skills
  • Practical knowledge of OTC product compliance and drug GMPs
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office

 

 

Desirable:

 

  • Prior experience with assessing vendor performance using KPI score cards
  • Prior auditing experience
