Senior Scientist (all genders) - in Vitro CRVI 

 

Join Bayer’s Cardiovascular, Renal and Inflammation (CVRI) research area and contribute to pioneering therapies for kidney diseases. In this laboratory-focused role, you will design and execute cutting-edge in vitro experiments, drive innovation in molecular and cellular analytics, and play a key role in advancing our drug discovery programs from target validation to clinical evaluation.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • You will design and execute in vitro experiments (cellular, enzymatic, biochemical), analyze data, and present results and next steps in the context of kidney disease modelling to advance CVRI drug discovery programs
  • You will provide hands-on expertise within one of our technology areas (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology or Cellular Analytics) and contribute to innovation in these fields
  • You will initiate and drive projects supporting the CVRI pipeline and research portfolio
  • You will collaborate with scientists across CVRI and other R&D functions, contributing to cross-team and cross-site activities
  • You will ensure accurate documentation of all experimental results and compliance with GRP and HSE guidelines
  • You will stay current with scientific advances in your field and contribute to scientific literature or conferences as appropriate
  • You will foster a culture of collaboration, high quality, and scientific rigor within the laboratory environment

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • You hold a PhD in a relevant Life Sciences field with initial experience in an academic or industrial research environment advantageous
  • You have experience in renal biology and insights into renal disease mechanisms
  • You demonstrate a strong track record as a hands-on experimentalist, working with biological systems such as cells, lysates, or tissues and a desire to continue in a laboratory focused role with a high level of experimental vigor and quality
  • You possess practical skills in cell culture, cellular analytics (e.g. flow cytometry, microscopy, imaging), functional assay development, molecular biology, and biochemistry
  • You show high attention to detail, creativity in problem solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • You build effective relationships across functions and contribute to a high-performing research culture
  • You have impactful research experience, ideally evidenced by publications, patents, or conference presentations
  • You are fluent in English, both spoken and written; German knowledge is an advantage
