JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Concrete Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of jobsite management including scheduling, subcontractor relations, document control, change management, record keeping, scheduling, quality control and safety. They will oversee the project throughout its lifecycle from award to completion, and will professionally represent JHL and effectively support Company strategic initiatives as well as foster positive long-term relationships with all business partners – ownership, design professionals, and subcontractors. The Assistant Concrete Superintendent is responsible for the safe and on-time delivery of the project while maintaining quality, environment, and budget.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Core Duties / Responsibilities:
The Assistant Concrete Superintendent provides overall supervision and support to JHL jobsite, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure high quality and timely delivery of the project.
Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents, inclusive of all changes during pre-construction and construction
Maintain document control logs – submittals, RFI, ASI, all tracking logs, weekly production logs, change management, Material Tracking List, Project Test/Special Inspection and Inspection Log, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
Thoroughly review submittals against the contract documents
Prepare, review, and distribute RFI’s. Review subcontractor RFI’s with Main team PE in advance of sending to design team to verify question is not addressed in the contract documents
Assist with punch list creation and completion– obtain inventory of owned and rented materials/equipment including owned and rented equipment returns.
Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work, field verification of neat numbers versus calculated numbers
Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
Assist with inspection QA/QC, verification of material deliveries, All rented form work
Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages on all Self Perform Projects
Assist field foreman in Order and scheduling all material deliveries as directed by Concrete Superintendent
Work with Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Concrete Superintendent to monitor procurement schedule and prioritize submittal and procurement needs consistent with project schedule
Assist with short interval schedule management with Concrete Superintendent, Field Foreman and Concrete Project Manager input
Create schedules for material deliveries, direct subcontractors to meet delivery dates & task schedules
Assist in field work layout support including control points, horizontal and vertical control, and compilation of as-built data to design data
Resolve field construction issues with input from Project Manager and Concrete Superintendent
Thorough understanding of each subcontractor’s obligations under their respective subcontract
Assist with subcontractor pre-construction coordination meetings and documentation
Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)
Create and maintain a detailed and accurate job schedule.
Coordinate Subcontractors in schedule development to facilitate accurate planning.
Host and/or attend all trade pre-construction and coordination meetings.
The Assistant Concrete Superintendent leads, implements, and enforces jobsite safety requirements and JHL Quality Assurance Program
Review subcontractor work plans and safety plans.
Manage/supervise Self Perform Concrete hourly craft and labor.
Coordinate and manage tasks with consideration to hours and budget.
Update manpower needs with as much advanced notice as is practical.
Assist and advise Self Perform Concrete foreman on setup and maintaining staging area for each project.
The Assistant Concrete Superintendent works with the Project Management team to effectively manage procurement and delivery schedules as well as change management.
The Assistant Concrete Superintendent will coordinate with PMs on specific individual project critical decisions and work that is not contracted for.

Education / Experience/ Training:
High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent.
10 Years of experience in commercial construction
Maintain OSHA 30 (minimum) and recommended refresher training as well as any project specific/need based safety training.
Attend training for Power Project (ASTA) Scheduling and advanced schedule theory.
Attend training for operational software as needed to stay current.
Seek training from Concrete Superintendent s and/or PMs on all areas of self-assessed or assessed opportunities for improvement.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Demonstrates strong knowledge of commercial construction and exceptional jobsite management skills; Delivers on key projects and commitments via professional knowledge and leadership abilities.
Possesses detailed process & application knowledge relating to building codes, budget management, construction practices, project scheduling etc.
Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6

TOTAL COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 per year
Annual Bonus: Eligible for participation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL:
FIELD: Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather: rain, heat, and loud noises. Travel up to 25%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
