We are recruiting a Senior P2P Application Analyst to join our growing Technology team on a permanent basis. This role is offered with hybrid working (2 days per week in the office) based at our Embassy Gardens, London office. This role will involve shift work, covering a rotating weekly rota with occasional weekend and evening on-call coverage required.

 

Reporting into the SAP P2P Functional Lead, you’ll be responsible for providing advanced support for the Procurement applications, ensuring smooth and timely execution of both month-end activities and BAU (business as usual) processes within the Procurement function.

 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to lead and unify a team and the willingness to knowledge share around best practice. You’ll be self-motivated with a passion for providing excellent customer care, understanding their needs and requirements and keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions.

The role

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Support the review of Incidents and Requests for all applications supported by the team, and support all new developments and enhancements through the testing and release process.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical P2P incidents and service disruptions, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, SAP Technical teams to ensure seamless support and delivery. Monitoring team performance, workload distribution and quality of support.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, root cause analysis and proactive issue prevention.
  • Support governance and compliance standards related to SAP P2P activities.
  • Provide support to the Project Managers during the development lifecycle of a project.
  • Produce and maintain technical support guides, service catalogue & other relevant documentation and support with audits.
  • Perform daily, monthly and periodic application and system checks and updates, and take appropriate action in optimising system uptime and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Triage defects, identify potential fixes and manage incidents through to resolution, either by an internal team or via an external supplier; communicating with the business user until issue is resolved.
  • Work with stakeholders and the Release Management team to ensure UAT and regression testing is complete for all new releases.
  • Represent the support team on project working groups to provide technical and application knowledge and guidance.
  • Attend Service Reviews and Operational review meetings; support the Team Manager with reporting requirements, chairing the meeting when required.
  • Run and monitor key jobs which takes place and validate data accuracy and completeness of financial postings and reconciliations during month-end/year-end close.
  • Maintain and update the month-end close calendar with SAP P2P related tasks and dependencies and communicate deadlines and responsibilities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyse recurring issues and propose improvements or automation and participate in projects to enhance SAP functionalities related to financial operations.
  • Lead daily/weekly operational reviews and support planning meeting with the team members and stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring

 

Essential criteria:

 

  • Strong understanding of key SAP P2P and MM processes, especially around Purchasing and Inventory Management.
  • Previous experience in a similar P2P role, working with SAP Procurement and Application Support systems.
  • Experience of working in a Service Desk environment using an ITIL methodology.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP FI/CO including Accounts Payable, New GL, Profit Centre Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, Bank Accounting, and Reporting.
  • Operational leadership experience.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Willingness and ability to commit to the hybrid working/rotational shift pattern mentioned above.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other sites as required (Colchester & London).

 

Desirable criteria:

 

  • ITIL operational background.
  • Experience of working within publishing, with a good understanding of publishing product creation workflow and processes.
  • Royalty Systems & Accounting exposure.
  • Experience of Biblio 3, Business Objects, ServiceNow, SAP Fiori, JIRA or Transport Express.

Salary

 

The salary for this opportunity is up to c.£50,000, depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits.

 

Hybrid working

 

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our London office 2-3 days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). You must be able to travel across both sites.
