The Team: Join a forward-thinking team that is at the forefront of data engineering within the S&P Global Market Intelligence Division. We utilize state-of-the-art analytics and data platforms, following industry-leading practices to convert raw data into valuable insights.

Impact: This role is crucial for enhancing the value we deliver to our customers. By participating in backend database development, creating tools for metadata-driven system configuration, and scaling into cloud environments, you will enable our clients to make informed, data-driven decisions that positively affect market perceptions and client relationships. As part of our expanding development team, you will engage in diverse projects focused on backend database development, cloud scaling, and the creation of innovative delivery platforms.

In this position, you will collaborate with experienced analysts and data professionals, helping to transform datasets into comprehensive reporting and analytical solutions. You will also work closely with data and business experts across the organization to understand key metrics and business performance drivers, as well as the implications of strategic initiatives. Your contributions will be instrumental in translating data into actionable insights that inform critical decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level data systems.
  • Build and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Participate in design sessions for new product features and data models.
  • Produce technical design documentation and engage in technical walkthroughs.
  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support and maintain production environments to ensure optimal performance.

What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or PG degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of substantial experience in application development.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres).
  • Basic understanding of OOP principles and some familiarity with programming languages (preferably Java, Python, or Scala).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Test-driven development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Initiative in researching and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new technologies.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture, cloud technologies, and managed services, ideally with AWS.
  • Knowledge of Big Data and analytics concepts.
