The impact you will have in this role:
Being a member of the Application Support Engineering team you will specialize in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to raise and resolve technical support incidents.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes to maintain operational stability.
- Lead Major Incident calls, engage appropriate teams, and drive root cause analysis for critical production issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex system components in highly regulated environments spanning on-prem and cloud applications.
- Analyze application designs and provide feedback on gaps or optimization opportunities.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery / Loss of Region events (planned and unplanned), ensuring compliance and evidence collection.
- Contribute to Monthly Service Reviews (MSR) with development partners to review KPIs.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve application issues and provide input during design and development stages.
- Support audit requests by providing documentation and evidence promptly.
- Plan and implement certificate creation/renewals.
- Create, modify, and monitor dashboards to improve observability and proactively detect issues.
- Capture and analyze project requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Resolve critical application alerts and production defects, providing business impact analysis.
- Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with development teams.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual monitoring efforts.
- Execute pre-production/production code deployment plans and vendor application upgrade processes.
- Align risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to mitigate operational risk.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems (Unix/Linux/Windows).
- Strong SQL/PLSQL and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Shell).
- Familiarity with relational databases (DB2, Oracle, Snowflake).
- Experience with scheduling tools (AutoSys, Control-M).
- Monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana).
- Middleware and messaging systems (WebSphere, JBoss, IBM MQ, Kafka).
- Proven ability to lead incident management and root cause analysis.
Preferred Skills
- Mainframe troubleshooting (COBOL, JCL, DB2 Stored Procedures).
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenShift) and modern databases (Postgres, Snowflake).
- ETL tools (Informatica, Talend).
