What You Will Do
Reporting to the Manager – Fitness for Duty, this position is responsible for assisting in the administration of the TTC’s Fitness for Duty Policy. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, scheduling and tracking drug and alcohol testing appointments, auditing invoices, reporting confidential results and updating databases.
In addition to the above the incumbent will:
- Assist in the administration of the TTC’s Fitness for Duty Policy
- Receive and report confidential alcohol and drug test results
- Arrange for drug and alcohol testing as part of the Return to Work process under the Fitness for Duty (FFD) Policy
- Schedule tests for the TTC's drug and alcohol testing programs
- Update and maintain tracking for result records, incidents and invoicing
- Ensure the confidentiality of documents is maintained, including confidential testing information and records
- Treat employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer
What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Completion of a post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field combined with several years of related work experience or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Must have experience with complex scheduling
- Knowledge of labour relations, human rights and human resources concepts and practices including relevant legislation such as Labour Relations Act, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion to adapt to changing situations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Working knowledge of computers and software applications relevant to the work, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SharePoint would be considered and asset
- Must have or rapidly acquire comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
