Join our Workforce and Economic Development team as a HEET Program Specialist and play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare workforce training across Washington State. This position supports the FY26 Hospital Employee Education and Training (HEET) initiative by informing strategic decisions and strengthening partnerships between the college, healthcare employers, and labor unions, and advancing employment opportunities for healthcare workers.
This is a temporary position set to last from the date of hire through the end of Fiscal Year 2026 (June 30, 2026). The selected candidate will be asked to start work as soon as possible. The HEET Program Specialist will report to the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development and work closely with the Director of Workforce Grants, Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, and Healthcare Outreach Coordinator.
The HEET Program Specialist will lead data collection and analysis from surveys and focus groups from healthcare stakeholders around the region. The incumbent will track project milestones and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. They will coordinate stakeholder engagement across multiple counties (Kitsap, Mason, Jeferson, and Clallam), manage partner meetings and events, and collaborate with internal and external teams to align activities with HEET grant goals and deliverables.
This is a part-time classified position represented by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA) Union and covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The candidate selected will be offered the minimum of the salary range unless they currently hold a position within the same or reasonably similar classification in Washington State.
Position Duties
Meeting & Event Coordination
Schedule and manage all HEET project-related meetings, including but not limited to stakeholder meetings, partner meetings, all-partner convening event meetings, internal meetings, etc. Responsible for surveying for availability, sending meeting requests, responding to questions, operationally supporting attendance, meeting minutes/agenda, and participation from all partners including in the event of the need to reschedule.
Lead event planning and logistic coordination for the All-Partner Convening event, including serving as the lead for day-of-event operational management. Take the lead on event budget management and fiscal tracking related to the All-Partner Convening.
Constituent Surveying and Focus Groups & Data Collection and Analysis
Plan, execute, and manage in-person and digital surveying and focus groups. Then, organize, manage and analyze constituent input data obtained from surveys and focus groups. Contribute data and analysis to the specific components of the Incumbent Healthcare Worker Research report.
Lead the data collection and research required to create a Marketing Toolkit to be distributed to project partners in Q4 FY2026. Work in partnership with the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, Healthcare Outreach Coordinator, Workforce and Economic Development Department Strategic Initiatives Liaison and the Director of Workforce Grants to complete the deliverable prior to Q4 FY2026.
Other Duties as Assigned
Assist or lead all other HEET-project related duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

Demonstrated competencies related to scheduling and meeting management with no less than one (1) year of work experience related to scheduling and meeting management.
Demonstrated competencies related to research and writing with no less than one (1) year of work experience related to research and writing.
Demonstrated competencies related to event planning and logistics with no less than one (1) year of work experience related to event planning and logistics.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree (AA; 2-year)
Multi-lingual (Spanish)
Demonstrated competencies related to customer service with no less than two (2) years of work experience related to customer service.

Demonstrated competencies related to research and writing with no less than two (2) years of work/educational experience related to research and writing.

Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.
This position is funded by temporary funding and will be available from date of hire through the end of Fiscal Year 2026 (June 30, 2026) or as long as the funding is renewed.Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $27.24 - $36.69 hourly. They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.
