Job Description:

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner – C++ with a strong background in software development and agile methodologies for mining and construction equipment.

You will play a dual role - contributing hands-on to the design and development of high-performance C++ software while driving the product vision, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning for onboard automation and control systems such as Underground Drilling, Material Handling, and Autonomous Functions.

As a Technical Product Owner, you will collaborate closely with global stakeholders to translate customer and business requirements into clear technical deliverables. You’ll balance product ownership responsibilities with active participation in code development, architecture discussions, and technical reviews - ensuring alignment between strategy and execution.

You will be responsible for defining product roadmaps, managing backlogs, fostering agile delivery, and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement through hands-on technical leadership.

Mission of the Role

To lead the definition and delivery of high-performance C++ software solutions that enable Epiroc’s next generation of onboard automation and control systems. The Product Owner collaborates closely with global stakeholders and development teams to ensure product clarity, technical excellence, and scalable solutions that enhance equipment intelligence, accelerate delivery, and strengthen Epiroc’s position as a trusted automation partner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Ownership: Plan and manage sprints, prioritize product backlogs, and align with customer and stakeholder requirements. Develop and maintain product roadmaps to guide strategic development.
  
  

• Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach the development team using servant leadership approach, fostering a high performing, innovative, and collaborative environment. Empower team members by providing the support and resources they need to succeed.
  
  
• Understand Technical Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp technical needs, build teams, and deliver effective solutions.
  
  
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project goals and progress.
  
  
• Agile Practices: Implement and nurture agile methodologies within the team,ensuring alignment with Epiroc's values and strategic goals.
  
  
• Innovation and Development: Drive innovation in software development, focusing on maintaining cutting-edge advancements in key application areas.
  
  
• Collaboration and Growth: Encourage collaboration within and across teams to achieve Epiroc’s vision of sustainable mining solutions.
  
  
• Problem Solving and Support: Engage with the team to identify and overcome execution challenges, ensuring timely project deliveries.
  
  
• Recruitment and Talent Development:Support the recruitment and development of team members with necessary technical skills and soft skills. 
  
  
• Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and processes, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance with industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience Requirements: 10+ years of experience in software development and         3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in the mining or construction industries.
  
  
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  
  
• Servant Leadership: Embrace a servant leadership approach with a proactive,can-do attitude and a curiosity to learn.
  
  
• Communication and Project Management: Strong communication skills coupled with excellent project management capabilities, along with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
  
• Technical Proficiency:

• • Proficiency in software development, particularly in C, C++, Python, and experience with embedded systems.
  • UI/UX Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with UI/UX teams to ensure     user-centric design and functionality.
  • Experience with agile tools such as Azure DevOps or Git.
  • Awareness of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing methodologies

Nice to Have:

• • International Experience: Experience working with European or US clients and onsite experience, demonstrating an understanding of cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Agile Certifications: Certifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), indicating proficiency in agile methodologies and team management.
  • Knowledge of the latest advancements in software development, automation, and embedded systems.
