As data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good.  We need a data expert like you to bring your expertise to understand and protect data across the DoD enterprise.
As a client-facing data analyst on our Defense Technology team, you’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, you’ll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on data security in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce standardized data schemas and metadata tagging across subsystems in alignment with client standards
  • Conduct compliance audits and address schema configuration drift
  • Update metadata standards as required to ensure sustained interoperability
  • Prevent data stove piping through proactive monitoring and remediation
  • Maintain data quality standards ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency using existing baseline capabilities
  • Operate automated validation and error-detection mechanisms within established infrastructure
  • Sustain comprehensive test operations including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing leveraging existing baseline systems
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics and KPIs
  • Maintain data governance framework aligned with DoD policies using existing baseline infrastructure
  • Operate centralized data catalog within established capabilities
  • Sustain searchable access to dataset definitions and quality metrics leveraging existing baseline systems
  • Maintain modular, API-driven governance services using established architecture
  • Maintain data governance processes ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across DoD systems using existing baseline capabilities
  • Sustain metadata standards and data dictionaries within established infrastructure
  • Maintain data quality controls leveraging existing baseline systems
  • Operate automated reconciliation processes using established capabilities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • + years of experience in data analysis and data management roles
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python for data cleansing an analysis
  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL for joining data to support data visualizations
  • Experience working with large-scale data lakes and distributed data systems
  • Knowledge of data lineage and impact analysis tools
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have: 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, and other federal compliance frameworks
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Master's degree in a technical field
