Equinox VGM is currently inviting applications for an Equipment Coordinator to join our growing team as the company transitions from mine construction to mine operations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Camp Superintendent, the Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, tracking, and maintenance of all site equipment, including generators, rented vehicles, light vehicles, light plants, and other rented or company-owned assets. This role ensures equipment reliability and availability by maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating maintenance activities across the site.

 

This is a fixed term position located at the Valentine Gold Mine site, working on a 4 days in/3 days out rotation.  

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and track all rented and company-owned equipment on site, including generators, light plants, and light vehicles.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries, returns, and inspections to ensure accuracy and readiness for use.
  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all equipment including light vehicles and ensure timely completion.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and maintenance personnel to plan and coordinate repairs or servicing.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and costs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to optimize usage and reduce downtime.
  • Support site operations by ensuring all equipment is in safe and compliant working condition.
  • Assist with reporting, tracking costs, and forecasting future equipment needs.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or a significant amount of related experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in equipment coordination, fleet management, or maintenance planning.
  • Demonstrated experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Highly skilled in administrative computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite and SAP. 
  • Proficient in record keeping and scheduling.
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all travel arrangements and documentation.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, coordination skills, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Manages personal workload to ensure completion of tasks within schedules.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract required.
