CPower is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Law & Policy Analyst Intern to support regulatory compliance and process improvement across the company. This role is ideal for someone with a background in business, economics, or public policy who is eager to learn about the U.S. energy sector and contribute to the ongoing modernization of CPower’s compliance program. The intern will play a key role in supporting compliance and process management across the company, ensuring that internal teams are set up for success in a rapidly evolving regulatory and competitive environment. 

Program Overview 

This paid internship program will run for 11 weeks beginning June 1, 2026 and ending August 14, 2026. 

This is a hybrid position with the intern working remotely and at our Baltimore office three days a week (Tues/Wed/Thurs). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct independent research on industry best practices for compliance and process management.
  • Assist with internal audits of key processes to support efficiency and compliance.
  • Help write, review, and edit policies and standard operating procedures across the company.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by reviewing existing documentation, facilitating stakeholder consultations, and drafting future-state process documents.
  • Maintain high-quality record keeping for compliance and process management tasks.
  • Support the development of internal training and learning and development opportunities related to compliance and process management.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements 

  • Rising Junior, Rising Senior, or Graduate Student pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Pre-Law, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Interest in energy, compliance, and/or process management.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, R, Stata, or Python is an asset. 
  • Ability to independently manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
