About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced strategic leader to head our School Organisation and Admissions Service. This pivotal role covers planning, organisation, development, and access to schools, including:

  • Planning school places and managing Section 106 developer contributions
  • Overseeing the basic needs capital programme
  • Managing admissions and related pupil services
  • Establishing new schools (including free schools)
  • Supporting schools through organisational change, including academy conversions, MAT transitions, and age range changes

You will provide high-quality leadership, strategic direction, and management for a portfolio of services, ensuring effectiveness, improvement, and efficiency. As part of the senior management team, you will contribute to departmental strategy and lead cross-departmental and multi-agency initiatives.

This post is politically restricted therefore the post holder is disqualified from undertaking certain political activities under the Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Significant achievement at a senior level in a large, complex organisation
  • Delivering major projects and managing service improvements

  • Collaborative multi-agency partnership working
